Global horizontal irradiation is the most important parameter for evaluation of solar energy potential of a particular region and the most basic value for PV simulations.

The average solar radiation in Thailand is about 18-20 MJ/m2 -day or about 5.278-5.556 kWh/m2 /d. Highest solar levels are inthe North East of the country and around the coastal area of the South of Thailand.
